Publications

The results of the IIRE's work are made available to a larger public in large part through our publication series, the Notebooks for Study and Research. Since 1986 we have published 36 issues of the Notebooks in English. For many years we had a parallel series in French, the Cahiers d'étude et de recherche (currently under review). The Notebooks focus on themes of contemporary debate or historical or theoretical importance, sometimes based on lectures given in sessions in our Institute. Since 1998 they have been published as a book series in collaboration with Pluto Press in London. Different issues of the Notebooks have also appeared in languages besides English and French, including German, Dutch, Arabic, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Turkish, Swedish and Russian. For publications of interest in German including a few Notebooks in German, for instance, see http://www.die-welt-ist-keine-ware.de/isl/literatur.htm.

Many friends of the IIRE keep abreast of our work by becoming Notebook subscribers. Subscriptions to the Notebooks for Study and Research cost: for five issues, €30, £20, or $37.50; for ten issues, €50, £34, or $60. Each Pluto Press book counts as a double issue for subscription purposes: this means a savings of approximately 50% on each Pluto Press book! We prefer payment in euros, made by bank or giro transfer to Netherlands Postbank account no. 1757144, CER/NSR, Amsterdam.

For international bank or giro transfers you will need the name of our bank (Netherlands Postbank), its International Bank Code (IBC) - PSTBNL21, its address (Bijlmeerdreef 190, 1102 BW Amsterdam, Netherlands), our account name (CER/NSR) and our address (Lombokstraat 40, 1094 AL Amsterdam, Netherlands).
Our International Bank Account Number (IBAN) is NL13PSTB0001757144. For transfers inside the euro zone, indicating "shared costs" should ensure the lowest possible bank charges.

Next best are cheques, either sterling payable in Britain to P. Rousset or dollars payable in the US to Solidarity (earmarked 'CER/NSR'). All correspondence should be sent to: IIRE, Lombokstraat 40, 1094 AL Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

From Korea, the Philippines, Russia, South Africa and other countries, requests come in continually for information - and free copies- of IIRE publications. Many Notebook subscribers contribute to a special solidarity fund devoted exclusively to free or subsidized distribution of our publications to poor countries.

Some IIRE supporters help distribute the Notebooks by buying bundles of 5 or more copies of each issue on consignment (at a discount). Please contact us if you are interested in receiving a regular bundle.

Bookshops and libraries should make direct contact with Pluto Press at pluto@plutobks.demon.co.uk.

The IIRE also occasionally helps publish other works....

The Legacy of Ernest Mandel

Friedrich Engels: A Critical Centenary Appreciation

The IIRE has also published 33 Working Papers/ Documents de Travail/Documentos de Trabajo since 1988: works in progress, geared towards an interdisciplinary and international discussion, that are published and distributed for critical review in a limited circle. They are often an important stage in preparing later publication, whether as a Notebook for Study and Research, one or several articles, or a book. They are available to our friends for the cost of photocopying and mailing.
